the BIGGEST benefit of healing your nervous system

Someone recently asked me, “What’s been the biggest benefit of healing your nervous system?”

I thought about the embarrassing acne, uncomfortable bloat and constipation, painful arthritis, irritating anxiety, insecurity, and inability to focus that crippled me for the majority of my life.

But healing all that has not been the biggest benefit… no.

So, what has?

Accepting what I desire.

Accepting all the dreams, goals, hopes, aspirations and goodness that I want in my life.

Accepting all the things that I’ve put on my vision boards over the years.

How does that relate to the nervous system… you ask?

The nervous system is about safety and survival.

It’s designed to keep you alive for preservation of self and species.

And safety means keeping things familiar and predictable aka THE SAME!

Because when things are unfamiliar, they are unpredictable and that is unsafe to the nervous system. 🚨🚨🚨

So the nervous system avoids things that are new and unfamiliar.

Even if they are really good things like making more money, having meaningful relationships, setting healthy boundaries, adopting new habits, having extra time for rest and fun!

So when these things you desire start to come in, and it’s new and unfamiliar, the nervous system goes into survival mode.

Your nervous system protects you from that new thing by rejecting it or self sabotaging.

So as I heal my nervous system, I find myself accepting the things I desire with ease.

To me, right now, that’s been the biggest benefit of healing my nervous system.
